The Third Virial Coefficients of Argon - CH

"I proposed using a cubic virial equation of state to describe
gas-liquid-solid equilibrium. A serious problem in using this equation is that
the third virial coefficients behave very differently than what was accepted
for more than 100 years. To prove all these scientists wrong, I extracted the
huge pressure-temperature-density table of argon into a giant spreadsheet, and
analyzed the data set using Excel. I used two different methods to compute the
third virial coefficients from 83K to 1200K, and proved that my results are
correct. Most books on the thermodynamic properties of real gases will have to
be re-written." |
