Meeting Dates: SVFIG meets on the
fourth Saturday of each month this year with the following exceptions on
the third Saturday:
- November 16th (Forth
Day)
- December 21st
Meeting Registration: If you are planning
to attend this month's meeting, please register on
Meetup.com. If you are not planning
to attend, there is no need to register.
Meeting Location: SVFIG will meet in the
Peterson Building (Building 550) on the campus of Stanford University.
The building's location is shown on these maps - Slide1, Slide2, and this
searchable
campus map. Additional maps of the Stanford area can be found
here.
Print a map so you can find parking and the Peterson Building
easily.
Parking: There is open parking on
weekends. The suggested parking lot is near the intersection of
Santa
Teresa Street and Lomita Drive. You may park in any A or C
designated areas or metered space. There is no need to feed the meter on the
weekends. Do not park in any place marked with 24/7 restrictions!
When in doubt, read the signs!
Building Entrance: Make your way to the
Panama Mall entrance of the Peterson Building. The door is labeled
Building 550 - Mechanical Engineering Design Group. Press the wireless
doorbell to announce your arrival. Someone will open the door for you. Do
not ask Stanford students to let you in and do not enter the building behind
them.
Meeting Room: Room 200 will be the venue
for this month's meeting. Once inside the building, ascend the stairs just
inside the doorway. The room is on the left at the top of the
stairs.
WiFi: Stanford Visitor is a
publically-accessible wireless network available to SVFIG attendees on
campus.
Hangout: SVFIG meetings are typically
broadcast using
Google+
Hangout. The YouTube video stream lets everyone see and hear the
presentations. Questions and comments can either be posted on Google or emailed
to the SVFIG email list. When the video is
started, its url will be posted on the Hangout page and emailed to members of
the SVFIG list. Material with potential intellectual property conflicts will
not be streamed. A subscription to Google+ is not required to view the video.
