Bottom-up Design in Altera Stratix II
FPGA - CH Ting
"I am trying to layout designs the way they ought to be, taking advantages
of the two-dimensional structures inherently in an FPGA. Altera tools in
Quartus II allows one to assign logic to specific locations, and I will show
how to use these tools. I filled the entire FPGA with a gigantic 2D shift
register array with 50x816 registers. I am implementing the search engine Chuck
Moore did for me a long time ago. It has 32 comparator arrays, each of which
has 200 comparators. I can put in an eP32 core to control the comparator arrays
to facilitate software development of searching algorithms. I hope I can get
enough things done for a real demonstration at the meeeting."
