Coffee, Tea, Bagels, and Pastries

10:00

Technical Session: Linux Scripts and gForth - George Perry
George wrote a short Linux script that includes a call to gForth to create another script and execute *it*. The Forth is almost incidental... but possibly of interest to those looking for a "handle" (yes, especially for working with files) on non-Windows Forth systems.

11:00

Technical Session: Win32Forth Update - John Peters
Bring your computer (or a disk) with a Forth demonstration, a back burner project, a Forth for Dummies question, a tough bug report or a wish list, etc. to the "Fourth House of Lords" round table. You will be preaching to the choir. Get feedback and encouragement from other Fig members. Play music, play chess, draw graphics, and more on the big screen. Show us your favorite Forth web pages, your personal web page, and those of your competition. What do you have in your web browser's list of favorites that you can show to a mixed audience?

12:00

Lunch -
Networking, demonstrations, and tutorials
Sign up for inpromptu talks by name and topic on the white board

13:00

Introductions, Announcements, Rumors, and Gossip

13:30

Featured Talk: Forth Stamp - Al Mitchell
AM Research will be releasing beta versions of their Forth Stamp with an optional Basic layer to compete with existing Basic Stamp products. This chip runs 500 (no, that's not a typo) times faster than the Parallax. Additionally, assembly definitions and subroutines can be called. Both the Forth and Basic versions are interpretative. Prices are compatible with Parallax products.

14:30

Break for afternoon tea
Networking and demonstrations.

15:00

VCF: Vintage Computer Festival at Moffett Field
Adjourn to attend the Vintage Computer Festival at Moffett Field. Admission to the event will be $10 per person per day for full access to Speakers, the Exhibition, and the Marketplace, or $4 per person per day for Exhibition and Marketplace access only. See the website for more information and directions.

16:00

Adjourn
